Dear Visual Communication,
I don't know if you remember me, we've met recently and it's great to see you again. Actually, when you think about it, we've had an on/off relationship for a while! I must assure you though, you've been always on my mind, although I'm still attracted to some of our friends (like Painting, Ceramics- good lads;).
I have to say, you've always been very demanding, but that's what I like about you most.... you are challenging, you make me think about hundred things at the same time, you make me look for better and newer things around me.
I received a nice surprise from you last week- you asked me to design a book cover!! I'm honoured and thrilled! I just hope I won't let you down.....
Now, about that brief you gave me..... I have the research done as you asked and will attach it below. The 10 slides about: the book title and author, synopsis, the place, characters, time period, the themes, typography, mood board and some examples of other book covers I'll attach as well.
Talk to you soon, take care!
Anna
Ps. The book I chose is Oscar and The Lady in Pink by Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt. Don't be deceived by the title please, it's far from a love story ;)
Ps2. Can I call you Vis Com??
As usual, I started with the mind map (and reading the book)
Yes, the synopsis in my handwriting- that's where it all starts before the computer gets involved!
looking for colours, for the mood of the book
And eventually putting it all together
a lonely drawing.....
sorry, having problems with putting the presentation online
available on Moodle though
